I’m going to participate in the Sketchbook Project! This is a huge travelling exhibition for sketchbooks from artists all over the world.
Have a look at it here:

You get sent a sketchbook from them after you chose a loose topic that will be the theme that runs through your sketchbook and then fill it up with wonderful drawings and sketches! Once it;s full of little gems you send it back and it goes on tour where people can go through all these sketchbooks and have a look at them in the exhibitions.
I loved the idea of being a bit more proactive about my drawing through this because I seem to only sketch when I have a project on that needs some, so without a kick in the butt I’m pretty lazy about it I have to admit. But I hope to be a bit better because of this! And maybe I also lose a bit of my obsession of only creating great drawings, lol. So I won’t rub out the bad ones, at least not all of it :-).
I chose the topic “Unchartered waters” because I love water and also because it leaves some room for drawings of things no one has ever seen before :-).
I’ll update you guys on it, but for now I’m excited to be a part of it! I wish I could go and see it when the exhibition comes to Melbourne, but I’m not sure that I can make that :-). Will see.
