Ahhh animation… my favourite past time on a sunday and my favourite elective class in Uni. I even took a paper in Animation and Graphic Novel theory and analysis! (It was awesome btw. Lots of thought goes into high end animation and comics, I can tell you.)
So I love thinking up and creating animations as much as I love watching it. Therefore you can imagine my delight when I got asked to create an explainer video for a business in animation style.
The video will be showing, in a quick and simple way, the ins and outs of Pagemap, a company that offers sweet relief to lawyers and other professions that have to deal with contracts.
At the moment, a contract is a convoluted cross reference beast that takes a mega memory and brain to get on top of. There is no easy way to navigate it and all the legalese can quickly get on top of you if you can’t remember what the terms mean. Finding a specific clause containing a special keyword can take forever to find. Pagemap can help with all of that. In their own words:

So I will be creating a video showing Clare, a lawyer or legal assistant working with the contract and going from overwhelm and confusion to happy contract bliss :-).
While this may sound a little less exciting than a mythical action story, I really love the simplicity of it and there are some fun elements to play with as well, especially when Clare gets confused by a term that seems to be sprouting and leading to more and more avenues and clauses, which turns into a wonderfully twisted maze.
I will be creating all the visual content, from illustrating all backgrounds, characters and objects, to animating and adding effects.
